As you could see, the geodesic dome is a real mathematical object, created with an icosahedron, which is an other mathematical object, and possessing mathematical formulas. But, the geodesic dome is also a question of art and harmony.

| Spaceship Earth |
First, the spherical shape of the geodesic dome could make us think about a planet. Thus, in the case of the Biosphere, it symbolizes nature and environment, which are the subjects of the museum. It can also represent something futuristic, like in Spaceship Earth (in EPCOT, Walt Disney World Resort, Florida, USA) or scientific, like in the Géode (Cité des Sciences, La Villette, France) because it's not just a sphere, but a "researched" sphere composed of triangles. It shows a work on it, and a great technology to build it : the science is thus omnipresent.

| Tacoma Dome | |
Second, the use of very big geodesic dome is perfect in a stadium, as
you can see in the Fukuoka Dome (Japan), in the Nagoya Dome (Japan) and in the Tacoma Dome (USA), which are the three biggest stadiums made with a geodesic dome (however, just a part of the geodesic dome is used, otherwise it would be too big).
Whatever the use of the geodesic dome we make, it's a good choice, and it integrates well with its environment, in a city or in nature. So, the geodesic dome is harmonious, both with its "function" and its environment.
